Each theme has a Historical background and about 4 to 6 documents on that specific theme/5. The documents contained in the document-based questions are rarely familiar texts (for example, the Emancipation Proclamation or Declaration of Independence would not be on a U.S.
history test), though the documents’ authors may be major historical figures. The documents vary in length and format. In contrast, the J.
